Home Sweet Home

It feels so good to be home, but it is not without it's own set of problems. Mainly, squirrels eating and uprooting my plants. I sent out a strong message (and sprinkled the rims of my pots with cayenne pepper). I think they got the message.

DC and US

A new restaurant we went to check out called "Founding Farmers". Everything is organic and grown by local farmers. We introduced Tae to the American classic Chicken Pot Pie!
Tae and I at the Lincoln Memorial overlooking the National Monument and the Reflecting Pool. We had a wonderful time exploring DC!

Back to LA, But Not For Long

Ariel at the China Town Pavilion
MGMT, Spoon, and BECK show at Hollywood Bowl.
Leaving on another jet plane. No time for jet-lag!

We met my friend Amy by the mustache tree.

I had one night to unpack and repack my bags, see my friend Ariel and her boyfriend who were in town to do a show at the Hollywood bowl (he is in the band Spoon and was opening for Beck), and board another plane for DC with my friend from school, Tae.

And A Few More...

Bozena's boyfriend with my new favorite polish artist! Actor turned musician.
Bozena's house. She is a very talented graphic artist and painter. We met in Dallas in '06.
At the museum of technology. This was the computer section. High Tech!
"Honey, where are you?!" I passed this guy on the street and had to take a photo!
Simon at a cool restaurant we went to where you watch the cooks prepare your food (in the background) and then they bring it to your table on the skillets and pans! It's awesome! Traditional polish dumplings and savories!

Poland

Concept Store located in an old bathhouse. The Deisel Brand section had a swimming pool in it!
This is how they buy sunflower seeds! On the sunflower! So cool, and yummy!
A bar we went to had a huge spider crawling up the side of the wall! Eeeek!
Parking lot + Lazy boy style chair + Really large framed photo of 1987 model with frizzy hair= Warsaw.

I met my friend Bozena for the week-end. I had a wonderful time exploring Warsaw with her, her boyfriend, and Elina's brother (from Sweden) Simon. These are some Polish highlights:

Off to Poland

I was whisked away to Poland via Wizz Air! Upon our descent a gentleman got up to use the restroom located near where I was seated. The stewardess told him he would have to take a seat and buckle up since we were landing. I thought to myself, "Can't a guy take a wizz on Wizz Air?"

Trend Alert!

Making tube socks for sign poles, and mustaches.. (always in fashion, really.)

A New Me

Went to a museum in Stockholm and they had these interactive exhibits. This one was with mirrors, and just look at the outcome! Part Tomas, part me.

Train!

My favorite way to travel.

Stockholm Days, Sleepless Nights

I love this city. The old rusted textures, the smell of history, and stories that are waiting to be lived and then told. Here I am, and there is no where else I would rather be.

Surströmming (rotten Swedish fish)

My first night in Säter we were invited to a woman's house to eat a traditional Swedish fish. Everyone was excited to have an Americanski in the bunch to initiate into Swedish culture. You see, this fish is so old and salty that when you open the can it explodes. Oh, and one more thing, it smells like a cats litter box. Yum! Everyone was debating on where to open the can: Down the street? The neighbors yard? They opted for the far side of the back yard closest to the neighbors yard. It was opened and the rancid fumes reached their invasive hands into my nostrils. We were each given a fish. I took some bread and whatever else I could find that could mask the taste and rolled it into a burrito of sorts. Let's just say my eggo was preggo and 1/2 way through I got a delight of caviar. I finished my swedish fish burrito and thrust my hands in the air as if I was winning a prize. I noticed the big guys behind me weren't eating the fish. I inquired. They said they have never and will never touch the stuff, that they were too chicken. And it was on this day that I officially became a swedish man.

Jeff to the Kap to the D.O. Double G

Jeff and I worked together on the Blindside tour in '05. He is now out on tour w/ Snoop Dogg and got us into the show in Stockholm! It was great to see him again! Wish we would have had more time. It's hard to see but I gave him some grills that say "BLING" across them. You can't be on a rap tour and not own a pair of grills!
